The township of LOZOYUELA-Navas-Sieteiglesias is located north of Madrid, in the region of the Sierra Norte (just 66 km. Separated by the NI, these areas of Madrid). Its area is about 52 km2 and is situated at 1028 m. height above sea level. It consists of three villages which were merged in 1973. LOZOYUELA, the largest of which is at the center of town, while Navas de Buitrago Sieteiglesias and are located to the west. Its orography determines the landscape, being limited by two barriers very rugged topography: the south, the Sierra de la Cabrera with the Pico de la Miel which dominates the district and the West, the Sierra de Mata with Eagle Hill Bollero, Raxó Mata, sorrow and Regajo as higher peaks.
It is bordered by three rivers, the Jóbalo the Recombo of Nava and the Alameda (the latter two with a permanent water regime). It is one of the seven municipalities that make up the sub in the "Sierra de la Cabrera," which serves as a gateway to the Sierra Norte. The variety of rock forms, the colorful tapestry plant and the strategic location of the villages are part of the tourist attractions that nature offers to the visitor.
The countryside still retains the essence of the past, significantly through the use of collective pastures, meadows, foals shoe, cottages, roads and cattle trails. This town offers the visitor a soft contrast of flat and hilly landscape with granite formations that you have a little land suitable for cultivation and settlements from the first (tenth and eleventh centuries) that led to these people, the vast rangelands are have focused almost exclusively on pasture for cattle ranching. All these elements combined with an architecture fully integrated into the natural environment, given the attractive landscape qualities and a high ecological value.
Due to its geographical position, this area of town has been forced to step transhumant livestock coming down the North in search of pastures to the south. For this reason there are many cattle trails that run through the town: the Cañada Real Segovia, the Cañada de la Fuente del Lagarto, the Cordel del Santo de la Peña, the Cordel Relaño and the casting of the Portachuelo. Access to town is easy, due to its proximity to the road or, Madrid-Burgos.
This privileged situation makes possible communication with the capital in 45 minutes, plus we have the bus line "The Continental" that in our town with an estimated frequency of one hour daily.
